What Constellation Response is
Constellation Response is a Texas-based reseller and outfitter of off-grid communications, mesh networking, drone, and field gear. We don't manufacture the products we sell. Each product is designed and built by its own brand (AT-Labs, Natak Mesh, TER Drones, Spec5, Swift Design & Textiles, War Donkey Outdoors and others), and Constellation Response sells them, configures kits, supports customers, and handles quotes and fulfillment.
Constellation Response is the official retail partner for AT-Labs RM-series radios (see https://at-labs.tech/contact.html).
Who we serve
- Search and rescue (SAR) teams
- Fire departments and emergency services
- Law enforcement, including SWAT and patrol
- Federal agencies and government contractors
- Prepared civilians and community preparedness groups

How the systems fit together
- RM-1 / RM-2 (LoRa): long range, low bandwidth. Text, position, and status across rough terrain with no cell or internet service. On the encrypted mesh, every RM-1 repeats for the others, so coverage grows with each node. RM-2s run on their own licensed (Part 97), unencrypted channel and don't join the encrypted RM-1 mesh.
- Nucleus (Wi-Fi mesh): short range, high throughput. Shares ATAK data, maps, and video locally. Ion adds a TAK server.
- HOURGLASS drones: aerial thermal search and overwatch. The Spec5 Copilot can carry a mesh node aloft to extend LoRa coverage.
- Teams commonly use the layers together: LoRa for range and resilience, Wi-Fi mesh for speed and data.
Typical setups by user
- Search and rescue: RM-1 for long battery life and durable field nodes, RM-2 where more link margin is needed and a licensed operator is on the team, an RM infrastructure node on a high point, and HOURGLASS Bravo Thermal for heat-signature search.
- Fire and emergency services: RM-1 for comms that keep working when infrastructure fails, plus a drone-carried Copilot node to extend coverage over the fire ground.
- Law enforcement: RM-1 for primary encrypted LoRa messaging and distributed nodes, Nucleus plus Ion for local ATAK data and video.
- Federal agencies and government contractors: RM-1 radios and the Response Crate for team kits, Nucleus/Ion for TAK networks, and NDAA HOURGLASS drones for ISR. Quotes and POs by email.
- Prepared civilians: a Spec5 Trekker or RM-1 to start, a Custom Programmed UV-5R for local voice and NOAA weather.
