Description
Made to order — ships in about 1 week.
Charging an RM-2 over USB-C used to take 10–12 hours for a full charge. The RC Series cuts that to about 3 hours.
Both versions connect the same way: set the adapter against the pogo pin on the bottom of your RM-1 or RM-2 and the magnet pulls it into place.
Both RC-1 and RC-2 use the same magnetic pogo-pin connection. Both ship with a 12V 2A (24W) wall adapter and roughly 36 inches of cable. The difference is what you're allowed to plug into.
RC-1 is a sealed run: wall adapter straight to the pogo connector. Plug it in, charge, done. That's the right pick if your radios live at a desk, a base station, or a vehicle you can shore-power.
RC-2 breaks that run with a center-pin-positive 5.5 mm × 2.1 mm barrel connector. It still comes with the same 12V 2A wall adapter, so it works exactly like an RC-1 at base — but you can unplug that adapter and feed it from a solar panel, a vehicle charger, a power station, or any in-spec 12V DC source instead. That's the option for teams that can't count on an outlet: SAR, disaster relief, anyone working off-grid.
Why We Love It
- Snaps right in. The magnetic pogo-pin connection is super satisfying — you'll feel it seat correctly every time.
- RC-2 doesn't cost you the outlet. It ships with the wall adapter too. The barrel jack is an addition, not a trade — base charging today, solar or vehicle power the day the grid isn't there.
- Bring your own power. Any 12V DC source with a matching 5.5 mm × 2.1 mm barrel works. You aren't locked to our adapter.
Technical Specs
What's in the Box
| RC-1 | 12V 2A (24W) wall adapter wired directly to the magnetic pogo connector. Approx. 36" total length. |
| RC-2 | Magnetic pogo connector with a center-pin-positive 5.5 mm × 2.1 mm barrel input, plus a matching 12V 2A (24W) wall adapter. Approx. 36" total length. |
Not included: radios, solar panels, vehicle chargers, and power stations are sold separately. Product photos show the RC-2 connected to a solar panel to demonstrate its 12V DC input — the panel is not part of this listing.

Safety notice: Charging while wet is dangerous and voids the warranty. Confirm the radio's charging contacts and the adapter are completely dry before connecting. Constellation Response is not responsible for damage, injury, or warranty claims resulting from charging a wet unit.
RC-2 power source notice: Feeding the RC-2 from an out-of-spec source — wrong voltage, reversed polarity, or an unregulated supply — can damage your radio and voids the warranty. Confirm 12V DC and center-pin-positive polarity before connecting anything other than the included adapter.
