The Nature of Evil, Order, and Community

Are you 9 meals away from becoming the bad guy?
The Nature of Evil, Order, and Community

We're wired for survival. If you're alive today, it's because you descend from a line of ancestors who lived long enough to procreate. So when we are preparing for the worst, there are two paths we often take:

A) Basic needs (food, water, shelter)

B) Security (guns)

You need both plus 1 more, which we'll get to in a minute. But first, let's talk about what you're really up against: Evil.

We live in a fallen world - one where evil exists. Natural Disasters are terrible, but as bad as they are, they are not "evil". Evil exists in every person, and its capacity isn't born out of the blue; it's incentivized.

Disasters that you prep for threaten your basic needs, and often overwhelm police and emergency services. Combine that with that fundamental drive to survive, and good people will resort to evil quickly.

The old JBP quote of, "A harmless man is not a good man, a good man is a dangerous man who has it under control." That's why we offer weapon upgrades, like lights, optics and slings, as well as plate carriers and chest rigs.

We believe that security is a necessary foundation for your prep. But if you haven't secured food, water and shelter, your circumstances are going to be out of your control. And if you're a dangerous man, you're going to do evil things. So how do we stop that?

A three-month food supply is a good start, but preparing for longer is crucial. Many stop at basic preps like a gun and dehydrated food because the skills to hunt, grow, and secure food long-term seem overwhelming. Don't let this be where your preparations end.

This is where the third but most important aspect of your preparedness plan comes in — Community. From time immemorial, people have banded together to pool resources and ensure security.

We've already written about ways to start building community within your neighborhood and through Mutual Assistant Groups, but we must stress that now is the time to start building your networks.

Once you start building your network, you can start finding the holes in your community's needs and fill them in. Start with security, and then branch out. Water purification, food supply, medical, comms - all sectors that are a lot easier to cover if you have many people working to solve the problem.

Remember - if you want to be a force for good, you need to make sure the incentives for evil are kept at bay. By building community, you can bring order to any chaotic situation.

So where to start - Check out our collections below. Get a radio, start organizing your community. And become dangerous with out rifle upgrades and kit. Be a protector of Good, and an enemy of Evil.
